Great Movie Monologues
A couple of days ago, I was browsing Youtube. Not looking at anything in particular when I chanced upon this monologue given by Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting (one of my favorite movies and one that I have not watched in a long time). Watching that monologue inspired me to find other great movie monologues.
My only criteria for listing them here was:
1) I’ve watched the movie
2) I found the clip on Youtube
Good Will Hunting - Robin Williams
The one that started it.
This was the other one that came to mind immediately. There is also a great Tango scene in it.
A Few Good Men - Jack Nicholson
You want the truth. You can’t handle the truth. A real classic.
Good Will Hunting - Matt Damon
A political statement about a decade ahead of it’s time. I’ve forgotten how much great dialogue was in Good Will Hunting.
Shawshank Redemption - Morgan Freeman
Short but good.
Al Pacino has so many great monologues. Here are two more good ones: City Hall, The Devil’s Advocate
The man's body of work is just frigging amazing.
The slacker’s anthem? Maybe.
This is an honorable mention because I cannot find a clip of it on Youtube. It's by Kevin Costner from Bull Durham.
